The EBZ Entwicklungs- und Vertriebsgesellschaft Brennstoffzelle mbH was founded in 2000 in Dresden as a middle-sized company. EBZ comprises a team of 10 interdisciplinary acting engineers and scientists. It is developing a new Modular Power Supply System based on SOFC high temperature fuel cells for the generation of power and heat.
Beside the fuel cell stack, the system integrates all components and functions, which are necessary for self-contained operation: fuel management, afterburner, heat utilisation and grid interconnection, as well as sensors and an intelligent control. The EBZ system can be used stationary in buildings, as grid-independent power supply, or quasi-stationary for on-board power generation in heavy vehicles. Its performance ranges from 3 to 50 kW electrical powers and 10 to 100 kW heat. A 1.5 kWel demonstration unit was set-up in 2004. It is natural gas driven and includes two SOFC stacks. EBZ intends to cooperate with established firms in the sectors of heating, power generation and automotive. These partners integrate its Modular Energy Supply Systems into their products and market them. Moreover, tailored peripherals for fuel cell systems as well as services ranging from a SOFC simulation tool to the planning and installation of complete test-rigs belong to the offerings of EBZ. |
