Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH (FZJ) is one of the leading research institutions in Germany with about 4200 employees. Energy technology is one of the main research topics with an involvement of approx. 350 person-years. Protection of the environment and natural resources, economy and safety are among the prime research goals.
Over the past decade FZJ has been involved in several national programmes on SOFC co-operating with industries like Siemens and DaimlerBenz/Dornier as well as in several European projects co-operating with research institutes (ECN, Petten, NL; Risoe, Roskilde, DK) and industries. Currently FZJ is involved in two EU projects, dealing with SOFC plant development (ProCon) and improvement of long-term stability of cell components (CoreSOFC).
The research fields Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) are carried out by the Institute of Materials and Processes in Energy Technology of
FZJ.
