The H.C. Starck GmbH (HCST) is an international group of companies with more than
3,200 employees at production sites in Europe, North America and Far East. Traditionally the company is based on powder metallurgy. H.C. Starck produces ceramic and refractory metal powders as well as other special metals.Some of the powders are processed into mill products and fabricated parts.
H.C. Starck products are used in electronics, for advanced ceramics and in high temperature and thermal spraying applications. Further important markets are in the metal-working, chemical, battery and aerospace industry, respectively. According to the markets, the production and sales organisation is divided into five business groups which are: Hard metals, Chemicals and Mill Products, Electronics and Optics, Surface Technology and Ceramic, and Fabricated Products. H.C. Starck has been part of the international Bayer Group since 1986. Recently H.C.Starck acquired the company InDEC which is a pilot producer of planar cells. |
