RISOE

Risoe National Laboratory (RISOE)

Risoe National Laboratory (RISOE) is a leading research institution in Denmark with ca. 850 employees. The Materials Research Department has ca 160 employees of which 50 man-years per year are devoted directly to SOFC projects.

The Materials Research Department has studied SOFC related materials for ca 20 years, and has been involved in the development of cells and stacks for ca 15 years. Risoe has considerable know-how in the production and the testing of cell components, full cells and SOFC stacks. The Department has been leading a large national Danish SOFC programme since 1989.

As a part of this, Risoe built and tested a 500W stack over 2000h during 1995. At Risoe a pre-pilot production line for anode supported 120x120mm SOFC with thin (10 micro meter) electrolyte has been established. Risoe has a close co-operation with the Danish company, Haldor Topsoe A/S, with the purpose of developing commercial SOFC.

The REAL-SOFC-Project is supported by the European Commision as part of FP6 energy programme, Contract No. SES5-CT-2003-502612Imprint
